Easter’s Adoption Story - January 2019

“Easter brings so much joy to our lives. Our Rottweiler passed away in October 2018 and we knew our next dog would be a rescue as we strongly believe in adopting rather than shopping. We were pleasantly surprised when we brought Easter home. She is so well behaved, especially on a leash! Getting a rescue dog that is highly trained prior to adoption is a gift. Margo, the owner of Air Twiga, and her team provide a safe, loving and structured place for animals so they can get what they need until it’s their time to be adopted.

We can’t thank Margo and her team enough for loving our girl and keeping her safe until it was time for us to love and care for her.”

Paulie’s Adoption Story - May 2019

“I adopted Paulie in September. She's a delight but she can be a handful! She's got me up early and outside walking which is great for both of us. She adores all animals and people. She's goofy, sweet, head strong and cuddly!! She sleeps in bed with me and insists on being under the covers!!”

“So grateful for Max.

He’s so well behaved especially compared to the dogs I see in this complex and the beach.

Your system and care for the dogs you adopt out is unlike any other.”

Dr. Karlene was an enormous resource during today’s meeting, really decoding the way the dogs were communicating to each other.

You have the best dogs, and the way you train them before sending them to a home is amazing.
No one else does what you do. I will refer people to you. Only good candidates. Hopefully a few will inquire.

Buddy was a former Air Twiga Resident until he was adopted by a lovely and loving famil. Unfortunately, last year, Buddy passed away.

Jennifer Wurtzburger made a donation to Air Twiga in Buddy's honor and had the following to express to Buddy's family:

"Buddy Young was truly a special dog. Not only was he so handsome and so smart he had a heart of gold and wanted nothing more than to offer love and devotion to everyone he met and in return he received the same. He gave out hugs and kisses daily and always seemed to have a big smile on his face. Just one look at his handsome face could brighten anyone’s day.

Upon Buddy’s passing, I realized that not only had he been the best friend and fiancé to Latke (Lucy Young was always in the midst of preparing their big wedding day!) for about four years, but he brought me on a path to my best friend. It was because of Buddy’s sweet face and his handsome markings and coloring that we initially met him. Buddy’s features were the pittie version of Latke’s - right down to the uniquely shaped white patch they each have on their backside. As Latke and I approached Buddy and Jen one morning while out for our daily walk (we’re always up for meeting new pups on our walks), I noted their physical similarities (in pit form and collie/shepherd form) and instantly two friendships were born: Latke and Buddy, who immediately took a liking to each other, with no barking or growling, only sniffs and tail wags. And at the same time, Jen, Buddy’s owner, and I introduced ourselves, exchanged a brief conversation, and went on our ways (no sniffing or tail wagging, though!). A few days later, we had another encounter in the neighborhood and then another and another. Phone numbers were exchanged and plans were made to actually meet up and take our walk together. What fun! From then on, it was besties walking besties. Doggie playdates in our backyards soon followed, and the rest is history.

Like Buddy and Latke, Jen and I formed a true, lasting, very special friendship, and I don’t know what I would ever have done without her in my life. I consider Jen, and her family (humans and fur babies), like family to me. And I have Buddy to thank for bringing us together. I miss that big bundle of love daily, and I will always remember him. And I always will appreciate how he brought my best friend into my life."

Hi Margo,

Unfortunately, Luna had been diagnosed with Lymphoma and was suffering terribly. It was progressing faster than we could get a specialist to help her, so we had to make a really tough decision to end her suffering humanely. Although she was super sick and tired, I was able to have her last week off from work, and we did all of her favorite things. We went to the beach (we moved back to New Hampshire), did stand-up paddle boarding, ate tons of steaks and cheeseburgers, and went to some of her favorite parks and stores. Even though I didn’t have her for the longest amount of time, she had an incredible impact on my life and taught me life lessons.

I couldn’t have gotten elsewhere. She was honestly my soulmate. I couldn’t bring myself to write this email because I can’t even think about her for too long. I always cry, even though it’s been about 18 months. I cannot thank you enough for introducing me to her and allowing me to watch her grow into her attitude and blossom into one of the most behaved dogs I’ve every met.

As soon as I’m ready to have another dog in my life you will be the first person I reach out to.

Thank you for everything,

Justice
